A Single-Stage Single-Phase Boost Inverter with Common Ground and Continuous Input Current
In this paper, a single-stage boost inverter is proposed to be used in low voltage input photovoltaic applications. It improves upon a novel non-isolated integrated boost inverter topology by increasing the voltage levels from two to three, enabling zero-voltage generation and achieving continuous input current. The proposed topology allows for zero current leakage by establishing a shared ground between input and AC output. Another benefit of the proposed inverter is that a proposed modulation is used to reduce input current amplitude and stress. The working principle and analysis of the proposed inverter are elaborated. The modelling of the proposed topology is established in MATLAB/Simulink. Finally, the simulation and experimental results confirm the validity of the proposed inverter concept.
