Blended learning approach with various learning activities can results a better learning experience for students, and can help them to equip all-round and adopt life-long learning characteristics. PolyU provides a variety of GE (General Education) subjects to widen the knowledge horizons of students. However, large variation on students’ learning progress causes the teaching of our GE subjects (ABCT1D09 and ABCT1D10) become challenging due to their broad academic backgrounds. We would like to present our current work to enhance students’ engagement and motivation in learning science. The blended learning activities includes the use of virtual learning environment (Blackboard collaborate ultra, MS Teams and Panopto (u-rewind) videos, Blackboard discussion forum, case studies to improve students’ engagement and collaborative learning experience in general education (GE) class of around 100 students. The present study may offer more new learning opportunities in tertiary all-round education.
