Self-directed learning and regular revision of in-class lectures plays a crucial part in the process of learning and understanding. Well-designed e-Learning resources serve as an effective tool for that purpose and is therefore an essential element in devising a supplemental blended learning pedagogy. An empirical study involving the design, development and adoption of e-Learning resources and subsequent analysis of student engagement and student achievement for a specific undergraduate course on Radio Frequency Engineering and Electromagnetic Compatibility is presented. Students engagement behaviour in using e-Learning resources is analyzed through quantitative engagement data obtained retrieved from online e-Learning resource hosting tool. The effectiveness of such learning resources for self-directed learning leading to higher student engagement that eventually resulted in marginally better achievement of learning outcomes is presented.
