This panel at the I2M workshop (ACM Multimedia) convenes experts from the Singapore Institute of Technology, Meta, and the University of Tokyo to examine how advances in AI are shaping the metaverse across content creation, interaction, and infrastructure. Speakers will discuss generative AI behaviors, synthetic data pipelines for training perception and embodied agents, agentic AI and how they can enhance our lives, and the role of the intersection of AI and metaverse in our society. The conversation will also address and practical deployment challenges in education, industry, and related applications. Through brief position statements, a moderated dialogue, and audience QA, the session will identify near-term research priorities, collaboration opportunities, and open problems for the next few years, offering attendees a grounded roadmap for building human-centered, usable, and scalable metaverse systems.
