Enterprise Risk Management Toolkit for Charities and Institutions of a Public Character (IPCs) 2024
This report represents a collaborative effort between the Singapore Charity Council, KPMG, and the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) to develop an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) toolkit specifically tailored for Charities and Institutions of a Public Character (IPCs) in Singapore. The toolkit is designed to provide a comprehensive framework for how these organizations can effectively manage and mitigate potential risks in an increasingly complex and dynamic environment. It offers practical insights and structured guidance on developing ERM strategies, responding to risk incidents, and incorporating emerging risk drivers, such as cyber risk and climate risk into existing ERM frameworks.
The toolkit also aims to assist charity organizations in taking the next steps toward building robust and adaptable ERM plans. These plans will enable them to identify, assess, and respond to risks more proactively, ensuring long-term sustainability and resilience. However, it is important to note that the principles and guidance offered are intended to serve as flexible frameworks rather than prescriptive or exhaustive solutions. Organizations are encouraged to adapt the toolkit based on their unique contexts, resource availability, and specific risk profiles.
