Dr. Tan Xiang Ren obtained his PhD in Exercise Physiology from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2018. Together with his mentor, he spearheaded the first human exercise trials with magnetic resonance imaging in NUS, in collaboration with Clinical Imaging Research Centre (CIRC). His research was focused on evaluating the effects of exertional dehydration and hyperthermia on brain and muscle physiology. He has received Hernandez Memorial Scholarship and Student Foundation Award for his work presented at the 2017 Annual Meeting of American College of Sports Medicine. His teaching and research interests include neuroscience, thermal physiology and human exercise physiology.
