Nevertheless, there has been a large body of evidence that has demonstrated abnormalities in various brain systems in schizophrenia. Besides overt behavioural expressions, disturbances in neurotransmitter systems and neurocircuitry can be expressed as cognitive dysfunction. This presentation covers the the degree and impact of cognitive impairments in schizophrenia and outline various cognitive remediation approaches and strategies.
