Career coaching in many institutions of higher learning are now handled by career coaches who have recruitment responsibilities in industry. This trend is also reflected in the lack of research in the last ten years on resume writing and cover letter writing in journals. In this presentation, I would like to share how as a faculty, I collaborated with career coaches in charge of accountancy students in my institution to deliver a career development skills course consisting of career planning and management, job search skills, resume and cover letter writing, and mock interview. The course lasted six weeks, 3 hours per session. This presentation hopes to revive the call for academics to be involved in the teaching of career development skills, as we still have much to offer, when we work collaboratively with career coaches.
